I never use white for my borders unless im making an entire blanket out of white. I just prefer a color. Not necessarily one from the blanket if i can't match it, but at least something complimentary. All that to say, i think the purple or green from the strope would be my choice

Oh cool, I'm doing a striped blanket myself with alternating varigated and white! I actually grabbed the wrong shade of white, so I want to do a few rows around the border with the white, to make it a bit more cohesive. Then I'll do a row of the color, and finish with the white. It's for my 4 year old grandson when he gets his "big boy" twin bed. He may get the bed beforehand, as I'm using Bernat Blanket yarn lol. VERY warm, heavy blanket! I too can't tolerate the cold... but I'm literally allergic. The technical term is familial cold auto-inflammatory syndrome. I used to get hives, but now I don't... but get more of the severe symptoms instead (medication sensitivity, eczema, anaphylaxis). Fun stuff, living in Maine! Anyway, I absolutely love your channel Glenda, and watching Cody get into the hobby is SO fun! I'll be attempting a Pikachu amigurumi for kiddo's mum because of how great his project came out. Hooing to get her into crochet as well, some day! Beautiful blankets, both of you! Can't wait to see what you come up with next.💕

I'm just like you. I don't have anyone to crochet with so I am just doing it all alone. There are no groups in my town I have checked it out. Not even my family knows how. I learned from my dads sisters husbands mother( if you can understand all that). She taught me when I was in the second grade and I never gave up. I am one that does not have a creative mind at all I get inspired from the internet like you. And boy do I wish I had someone to crochet with. I show everyone my creations but they don't seem to have an interest in any of it. But I do it for me more than them. I have made Afghan's for my sons and my one daughter in law and my mom and one brother but that is it. So it is good to hear you now have someone and a male of course that is not as common.

Great job Cody, the baby blanket is beautiful. Love the peppermint blanket. Happy that Cody is crocheting and you both can inspire each other.

Pretty, pretty Christmas stuff! I've been in the Christmas stuff makin mood late ly. Want to make Christmas throw. Am making 4" squares in red, white, green, gold, silver, etc. to make a pixel picture throw. Hope I can do it. I look forward to seeing what all you will make.😊

Hi Glenda, It looks like these blocks are about 10" square. If I used Basix DK, do you think they would be much smaller? I need 8" blocks, after blocking, and really like this pattern. However, I'm afraid these will be too large, even with a thinner yarn. Thanks, and have a great day. 🐞

For that blanket & most baby blankets I would do a colored border. I love the color of that variegated yarn❤

It really does help to have someone to bounce things off of and share ideas. All the blankets are gorgeous. Use both colors for a border on the baby blanket with the multi being the outside row. Thanks for sharing with us!
